FAQ's

When are 1098T's mailed?

By the end of January, the Student Financial Services Office mails out Form 1098T for the prior tax year. Because this timeline coincides with the start of spring semester, we are unable to complete the process at the beginning of the month and cannot provide "estimates" for early filers.

To which address was my form mailed?

The form is mailed to the student's permanent address. The IRS does not allow us to mail the 1098T to a temporary address or to a campus box.

Why is Box 1 on the 1098T blank?

The IRS requires that schools populate either Box 1 or Box 2 on the form. George Fox University supplies information in Box 2, which refers to amounts billed for qualified tuition and related expenses.

What is included as "qualified tuition and related expenses?"

To access your student account history for the year, please log into Bruindata and select "My Data." Then scroll down and click on the "A/R Balance." The IRS links below are your best resources for determining which of the charges you are viewing qualify.
